I know it's easy to become insular when things are not as shiny and bright at home as we may like, but sometimes we need to step out of our own pity party (I know I do) because there are places that are doing much, much worse. Right now Australia is burning the death toll is over 100 thus far, many have been injured and over 700 homes have been destroyed. If you can do anything to help please, please do. The Red Cross is not accepting goods because it would cost more to transport them than to buy locally. Any monetary donation helps at these times even if it may feel like an insignificant amount, it adds up quickly.
