PETITE BOOKPLATES!

Well, I know it's Friday somewhere in the world!   I figured I would add this to the blahg sooner than later.  The other day on my bi-weekly jaunt to the library I checked out a book that had the sweetest little, lady-like bookplate that I ever did see!  I knew immediately that I wanted to make some for the download.  I have made them in a summer lime and sunset yellow.  They look a little bright on screen but they print pretty mellow (at least on my printer!)  If you still feel they are too bright you can play with your printers contrast settings you should be able to get a color that you are happy with.  Enjoy!

P.S.  I added the lines around the plates because I think it's easier to cut with lines (I cut like a drunk person without  them)

WISH LISTS...

I have a friend that is ahem, a bit on the new-agey side, in fact, I have a lot of friends that are-I am not.   I have been given multiple copies of 'The Secret' that have been slowly but surely sold off in my Amazon selling mania.  I get the gist of it, if you want something and think of it enough, it may just manifest itself.  Okay, so I am very pragmatic, I don't believe in things like star signs, numerology, bumps on the head, but I do believe in lists.  I make lists, lot's of lists.  One of my favorites lists is my 'Wish List' basically I make a running list of things I am interested doing, places I want to go, yes of course items that I want, etc.  It's fun and I feel that having my list makes me one step closer to actually 'manifesting' it.  I thought this list might be fun to make in one of those scrap paper notebooks that I blogged about early this week, you could carry it with you and when you were in line at the grocery or DMV you could add to your list, doodle, etc. Yes, of course you could also cross out 'wish' and add 'grocery', but it would be as fun adding toilet paper to the list as say a new pair of shoes, but that's just me...

PRETTIFY YOUR DESK....

It's Monday and if you are at work counting down the hours like a prisoner in jail, I am here to brighten your day just a tad.  I have created my first desk top wallpaper, I hope it works!  I don't know about you but I have an awful lot of folders on my desk top so I can't have a lot of pattern that will confuse me more than I already am, so I created this so there was some color but space to see my folders clearly.

HELLO APRIL CALENDAR DOWNLOAD...

April_download_image_3

I know it's Saturday, and it's a week into the month, but I wanted to get this up.  I love this botanical motif so very much, I know it's a tad girly but I am feeling a little girly lately.  I am aching to use this for a wedding suite for someone I just think the chrysanthemum is such a statement.  This fie is prepared as 5" x 7", I think this would look great printed on off white, slightly textured cardstock.  I do hope you enjoy your April calendar as much as I enjoyed making it for you!

DON'T WORRY....

I haven't forgotten your download, I am working on it and hope to have it before the weekend is over.  As you might imagine because of my near death experience, I am a tad behind, but I plan on getting everything back to 'normal' as soon as possible...

HAPPY B. DAY CARD....

Happy_b_day_giveaway_image

I know my shop is barren of birthday cards and I get requests to add them all the time, but for right now I haven't felt very birthday creative.  I do know that Birthday's roll around and then I am scrambling for a card and then what?  This will be your emergency birthday card.  It will take a little work, you'll have to print, cut, embellish and add your own envelope but it will be worth it when the person who receives it is surprised and flattered that you remembered their birthday!

THIS IS A PRIORITY...

Priority_image

Many may not spend as much time at the Post as I do.  It has gotten to the point where people automatically assume I work there even though I am wearing skinny jeans, flats and a tank (not regulation uniform for a postal worker), I think I  have developed a postal air about me, sort of guru-esque level of knowledge about the inner workings that mere mortal people flock to me in droves to ask questions from the swami of the post (btw, no, I don't let anyone borrow my pens or tape, it seems people feel it's okay to stick my pens in their mouths while they are writing or "cut" the tape with with their teeth, ick!).

So, I may know something that most don't and that's the fact that you don't have to be stuck with the Post Office Priority Mail stickers.  I mean they aren't horrendous but as my postmaster comments, "I know Miss B. they aren't pretty..."  Yes, I double and triple checked and you can use your own Priority Mail stickers.  I have enclosed some happy Spring versions for your sticking pleasure.  Why would you want this?  Sometimes the package you are sending needs to look as good on the outside as it is in the inside and then you'll be wishing you bookmarked this page and downloaded these labels! So what are you waiting for get your Pretty Priority Mail Labels

LITTLE CRAB DESIGNS...

Little_crab_3

I am pleased as  punch that guest designer Jennifer Ortiz of Little Crab Designs has generously designed the download today!  I found this talented (and very nice) designer on a random search at Etsy.  She was kind enough to help me out of a jam on a couple projects and I wanted to help her out in turn and let people know about her great little shop. She has very clean designs, lot's of great patterns and is great with colors.  Here's a little info on Miss Jenn:

My name is Jennifer Ortiz. I joined Etsy in July of '06. Before then I was selling my handmade greeting cards to neighbors, families, friends, and pretty much anyone that appreciated the paper art medium. I've been painting and drawing since very young and have a Bachelor of Science in Graphic design. Things people may not know about me is that although I am a "girly girl" I love to play video games, sports, and get my hands dirty. I love making functional items that people can use and I hope that I can constantly bring that practicality to my customers on a constant basis.

Jennifer has made some great tiny Thank you cards, with cutting guides and all (for the uuhm, cutting impaired like moi)
I love the great Spring colors!  You could print these on sticker paper and stick them on your packages or those homemade cupcakes you are going to send me for bringing you all this craft goodness!  You know what makes this even more fun?  I get to indulge in the download this week!  Yea!!!!  And of course today is the day I announce the winner of Danae Hernandez' beautiful custom calligraphy, and it's Friday!  Can this day get any better???

I hope you all get a chance to visit Miss Jenn's shop, Little Crab Designs...You can get your

HELLO MARCH!

Chand_download_image_3

Chand_download_image

Well, a very happy Friday to you all!  Can you believe it's March?  The days are just zipping by in a blur.  Your freebie today is a calendar for March!  This calender is great because you can shrink it down and put it in your wallet or blow it up and have a nice little design for the month.  I never did get around to buying one and I did think about designing one for the shop but it became an endeavor from hell, I have a horrible type A personality gone awry and I couldn't get it just right and by the time I thought I was on to something well it was the middle of February (not much calendar sales in February...).  So lucky for you that I was a slacker.  Now I will try to dole out the calendar to you for free each month and maybe next year I can get it together in time...March is available here.

And this has nothing to to with the price of tea in China (don't ask me, my grandmother use to say that all the time..) but I got this email yesterday and I rolled my eyes, because I thought geez, I hate emails with links and forwards and blah, blah, but I knew the lovely lady sending it and I decided to click the link.  I did try to embed the video but couldn't so this is what the email read:

Several years ago this woman found a sick, malnourished lion cub in the jungle. She took the cub home and fed him and brought him up until he was too big to keep anymore. Then she made arrangements with a zoo in Colombia to take the lion. Here's a video of what happened when she went to visit him in the zoo for the first time:

This was the link (****warning it brought tears to my eyes...)

THE BIG TO-DO...

To_do_girl_5

It's Friday already?  My how time flies when you are aging rapidly...Well, in my quest for becoming the organized doyenne that is my destiny I have included my tried and true to-do list for you.  I print mine out on nice paper because I 3-hole punch it and put it one of these babies:

Bex_binder

Another reason I print on nice paper is I have a large space on my to-do list for doodling (nice paper=better doodles).  I think it's important and if I have the space than I won't doodle on my list of very important things that have to be done, making my list null and void and a waste of fine time.   I think you will find my list very different from any on the market that's why I am giving it to you today for the rock bottom price of--FREE!  Now, start your organized life, Rome wasn't built in a day....

MORE LABELS!

Bracket_frame_blahg_3

Well, lookey here, someone has kept her promise to make Friday's even better than they already are!  Yes, another download! I am under the assumption that my download last Friday really worked and people around the globe could download my labels and stick them on everything as needed.  I am in an organizing frenzy which I will share throughout this weekend.

I figured if you were playing along with me and decided to get yourself in gear as well that this new set of labels will take you to organizing nirvana and back.  They are tiny, but perfect to discreetly mark boxes and binders, but not so discreet as to make you rip up the house trying to find that, 'thing' (that's how I always describe everything I lose-- "You know that thing!")

I made them in espresso brown, since I figured that would go with most decor.  I'll be adding more colors, pre-cut and professionally printed to the shop, but since you my pretty take the time to stop by our little part of the web, than you get first dibs--gratis.   Get creative , print them on cardstock, punch a hole, add ribbon and you have a gift tag.  Print them on coloured label paper in a light pink or pale blue, everyone knows how chic pink and brown and brown and blue are...Print on textured paper and use photo glue to stick in your books, viola, high-end book plates.  Do most anything, but don't sell them, k?  This is for you to enjoy, so get started...

Bella_giveaway_i

These labels/gift tags are 2.5" x 2.5", you can print them on adhesive paper and you have labels for your your return address, stick them on a box and you have gift tag.  Stick them on your magazine files or binder spines and you've got yourself an organization system, print them on cardstock you now have a Bella Bella co. calling card--get creative my pretties!  I made these in a sunshine yellow and white zig zag pattern and a little grey border.  I have included the crop marks and such to help you cut (I am cutting impaired so I need as much help as I can get).  Hopefully you can
