Lately it seems the world has had a collective case of the blues. Rightly so, people are losing their livelihood, homes and their general sense of security. I have been on this earth long enough to know that things do change, can change and will change as long you work in the solution and not the problem. What I am saying is don't drink the Kool-aid. Keep your head up, your heart hopeful and your ability to dream and everything will be just peachy...
What the heck? Is Miss B. getting all ten kinds of new age on us? No. I am offering up some unsolicited advice from someone who has lived downer and out than most and always has been able to see a bright side to it all. If you can stop and be appreciative for what you do have, make a list (I do adore lists) of what you do have and not what you don't you may see you come up flush. I like to break my list down into the very, very basics it helps keep everything in perspective:
- I have my health (mental is questionable, but general ain't half bad)
- I can see
- I can hear
- I can smell & taste
- I can walk (and if provoked I can run faster than most).
- If the cable gets cut off I can read! See #2 above.
- I have a roof over my head.
- I can eat and if I can't I will lose more weight and get a job as the world's oldest super model.
- I have a job (it doesn't matter If I allegedly work for someone that is blatantly cruel...for now..)
- I have unconditional love in my life (okay, if I stopped hiding bacon bits in my pockets it might be a different story. I am referring to my girls not the Fancy, although he is food motivated as well now that I think about it...)
- I have the ability to bring out the kindness in strangers.
- People like me A LOT (mainly because I give them things they don't have and don't need but want)
The last one is true. I have slated for the ENTIRE month of February 2009 an extravaganza to get you pretties things you don't need but may want, covet, desire, etc. I have 28 SUPERSTARS that agree that we all need to look on the bright side right now-- that life is beautiful. These kind, kind souls don't know you but still want to make you smile, lift you out of your funk and brighten your lives. To start this off why don't you let me know what you are grateful for. It could be one word. Just writing it down may put everything in perspective. Yes, you can totally write you are grateful for the Blahg and Miss B....Just a suggestion...
BTW, L.Freeman never did claim his prize! Boo Hoo. I did the random number picker and came up with Melissa M. is the winner of the French Press print.
